Trapani

A number of rocks facing north-east and increasingly becoming smaller, on which stands the 15th century Torre di Ligny (Ligny Tower), mark the boundary between land and sea: rocks facing towards an infinite horizon. Trapani, due to its elongated shape, has an historical center with narrow and winding streets enriched by beautiful palaces in Baroque-style and domes of Arab-Norman origins.
The southern coast is characterised by saltpans and ancient windmills; the northern coast, up to the Zingaro Nature Reserve, is an alternation of rocks and sandy beaches. Monte San Giuliano is located just behind Trapani; the “cobblestoned” hamlet of Erice lies on the top, looking at the city from above and giving visitors breathtaking views and landscapes. Trapani offers its visitors history, culture and ancient traditions; crystal clear waters, healthy air and a lush countryside must be enjoyed together with the genuine scents and flavours of the local cuisine and excellent wines.
